The turquoise in these are from the now closed Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine and once belonged to "Larry Cooley" who had nothing but THE finest turquoise, that happened to be mined long before they started treating turquoise..(You can learn much more about Larry by putting his name into the search bar when you're on my front page)

Sleeping Beauty stands apart from the other mines, based on not only it's 'true' turquoise color, but for the fact that it lacks matrix,which we often see in other mines & to some, can look fake for these reasons. This particular turquoise works well when artists are doing cluster work & they want a uniform tone throughout & is one reason the Zuni Puebloan artists use this turquoise, since the color doesn't shift in tonality.
