THE TURQUOISE:

These premium cuts of Morenci are another perfect example of the turquoise that came from the late Larry Cooley's collection.. Larry was a "scholar" in the turquoise industry & had a vast collection from every single mine, having on hand only the finest,premium qualities,so when artists like Federico & others would come to buy, this was who they went to.

Larry collected for decades & since then,many mines have since closed down.His collection of course was all natural & one thing you wouldn't find in his stock were low grade & or treated stones. This is one reason his name stood out in the industry & was the "Go-To" dealer for many designers. His collection was mined long before they started treating turquoise & had the best that each mine produced.

So these cuts are all natural, which is getting more & more difficult to find anymore, unless you're willing to pay top dollar per carat. After Larry's passing, everyone wanted dibs on his whole collection, but because of Federico's long time connection with Larry & Larry's family, he was fortunate to purchase this 'once in a lifetime' limited & very pricy collection(This is reflected in price) So once these stones are used up, they're gone!

THE EARRINGS:

These are designed where "Quality" dominates the "Quantity". These gorgeous earrings are designed in a 5 stone drop that have some of the most incredible blues that are known specifically to the Morenci mine & is one of the only mines that produce this color blue & especially when they are higher grades as these are.. Not only are the blues intense in color,but each cut has it's fingerprint pyrite matrix that are also known to this particular mine. With these cuts, you'll not only see the pyrite,but you'll see quartz in some which is also known to the mine.

The mine was closed decades ago & was once the largest copper mine in Arizona. The one reason as to why mining started was to mine copper, but then when they saw the turquoise that was in it,things quickly change & the turquoise then became their main focus..

Made in a classic contemporary style, where each stone is bezel set so the sole focus is on the beauty of the stones rather than being made with any elaborate sterling work. The turquoise comes natural (Reflected in the price) & are not treated like you'll find with less expensive style pieces.(You pay for what you get in this business) These can go as casual as you like but are elegant enough to pair with any upscale wardrobe.
