Federico Jimenez-Matl-Esque-"Palomas Enamoradas"- Turquoise Arracada Earrings with Michoacán Pátzcuaro Fish Dangles -3.50"

$640.00

THE EARRINGS:

Personally speaking, one thing I love to see in a piece of jewelry, is jewelry that has 'identity'. A piece that speaks an undeniable truth & a piece where you don't have to 2nd guess as to what part of the world they're from. So with that said, these literally scream Mexico throughout the entirety of the earring that's based on not only the Dove work, but the arracada crescent design that's known to Mexican earrings, as well as for the Pátzcuaro fish dangles!(Read below) If you are familiar & or follow vintage Mexican jewelry & know the design periods of Matilde Poulat (AKA: MATL) you can also say they have a little "MATL-Esque-ish" vibe in them that was more known in some of her earliest works.

Made for Federico by the hands of a skilled Oaxaca artisan, everything about these are made by hand, from the Palomas Enamoradas that give off the feeling of love, to the exaggerated high dome crescent shape arracada drop, that is hand hammered to give this area the texture it has, to the filigree wire that acts as not only being there for design, but also acts as the anchor for the Lake Pátzcuaro fish dangles. These fish portray the little fish that come from Lake Pátzcuaro in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, Mexico and  have found their way into many Mexican jewelry designs & normally if you see fish in Mexican jewelry, it is usually the fish of Pátzcuaro..The people there, consider this fish the "Food of the Gods" & have deep cultural and economic roots in Mexico, which is something that Federico is all about!

These earrings are given a rich oxidized finishing that give them a look as if aged & are accented with a soft blue turquoise dangle drop in the center & a more light blue teal color turquoise in the crescent. These may be on the longer-wider side, but because of the open space in the design & the sterling's gauge, they are very wearable & are not too weighty on the ears (See weights below for you to decide)

There was only ONE pair made & you will ONLY find them here where you get nothing BUT the finest Federico Jewelry!! They are SUPER sexy on & would be the perfect compliment to any Mexican wardrobe, but are not limited to!

*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try my hardest to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color as much as I can. Playing a role in the items color, is the fact that each monitor varies and can make something appear to look more vibrant or less vibrant, depending on your monitor. If you need more photos, in different areas of lighting, please let me know! ****

To give you close up photos, pictures tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality. So to get an accurate idea of how big these are, please either check them out being worn to get a rough idea (photo 2 ) or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements above.
