UNISEX!
If stories could be told ,these would be a book! These are apart of Native American history with the focus on the Zuni Pueblo.. Made after 1949,but more like the early to mid 1950's,these "Rainbow Man" Kachina cuff links are not something you see too often,at least not in cuff links anyway..
They are made in a perfect mosaic inlay with each tiny stone & shell that makes up the pictuesque figure, being 1st hand cut & shaped & then precisely placed in the proper places. The material sits flush in a hand sawed serrated bezel & then placed atop of sterling..
One thing that validates their age is clearly seen on the toggle, which reads:" ster.pat.2472958" which with this particular toggle, was invented in 1949 by a man named Mr. Oldak who was the one who came up with this modern-day cuff link design.
On the back is etched with either "TIH" Or HH" (I'm leaning torward the "TIH") Even though it could be the artists initials,I have seen many vintage pieces where many times the owners of the item, would scratch their initials,SS # & whatever else they could to give that piece a personal identification connection. They are in very WELL KEPT condition & are darkened with natural patina from time.
They can be worn by man or woman!
