On April 11th 2020,we lost one of the industry's "high in demand" Navajo artists, that for many years now, I have had the honor & privilege of carrying..Losing Darryl,was a serious blow to the SW jewelry industry & I have to admit that losing him was deeply saddening to me,since like many of us,I was one of his biggest fans!

Since there will be no more jewelry produced,I purchase all the remaining pieces that were available of Darryl's,but the prices are much higher than what they once were,since a portion of my purchase is being given to his family.

ABOUT DARRYL:
Navajo Darryl Becenti was born in '57 & was raised in the Native American Jewelry capitol town of Gallup,NM & was not only a highly skilled jeweler,but a Navajo Sand Painter as well.Darryl was apart of a group of 'modern-day',Gallup based Navajo silversmith's, that have all made their mark in the industry & all are "highly collectible"..This group had one thing in common and that is the similarities in their work. Their work is designed in a "Traditional Navajo-Vintage Revival" style & never do you see their work designed with a high polished-mirror finished-contemporary look,but rather with a deep dark oxidized look, as if it is aged.

Darryl was known for his impeccable repousse work,stamping, or both..Over the years,he achieved a look that was identifiable to only him & once you got familiar with his work,you could spot it immediately.. Darryl's work is found on a International level & was one of the most sought after artists & even more so now.

THE CUFF:
Darryl used stamping as the art form for this cuff..It is designed where it has 9 stamped rows & it is made where if you come from the middle line section & go to the perimeter on each side,the design repeats itself.
This is a style that is all the cuff you need & the good thing about it being all sterling is for the fact that it can be worn with other all sterling pieces or with colored stone pieces! Even though it has "Statement" written all over it,it still has a simplistic look about it.

THE FINISHING:
Emulating a look as if aged,the sterling is finished in a oxidized-"Vintage Revival" finishing.The nice thing about this finishing is for the fact that you never really need to polish it,like you do with contemporary finished sterling!

FITTING:
This is a UNISEX cuff that's made for a LARGE-fleshier size wrist that either woman or a man can wear.The 1-3/4" large gap opening is great for those who need that,since it's nice & wide!(See Specifics below)

I can see a man with the style of Ralph Lauren wearing something like this..Crisp white shirt,jeans & boots & then decked in some sterling! You know,the "Urban Cowboy" look.. I'm just saying..LOL..
