ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Raised in the Gallup, NM area, Navajo artisan AARON TOADLENA is an artist that doesn’t take his art for granted & believes it is a blessing", since he has been able to support his whole family from making fine Navajo jewelry for many years now.. Aaron does not begin to make a piece until his mind, eyes ,heart & hands are in sync with one another. Always being the best he can be & doing the best he can do,it is always obvious in his jewelry. Aaron keeps his jewelry super traditional that's made in a 'old school' Navajo style, by still doing everything still by hand..This is one reason he does not do cast work,since he would rather hammer & pound through the heavy gauge sterling he works with ,just like his ancestors did.

He's been a regular in the highly read "Cowboys & Indians" Magazine,as well as having been in the Oprah Magazine at one time! He worked with the famed"Ray Tracey" & also has done shows in Boston & the St Louis Art Museum..His jewelry can't get an more Navajo & any more traditional than what you get that has his name attached to it.. His work is highly collectible.

DESCRIPTION:
I have to admit that one thing Aaron really knows how to do, is to make gorgeous cuffs! The turquoise rocks with vibrancy & the obvious quality only adds to his phenomenal workmanship! This is one of the prettiest cuts of Kingman that's cut to perfection & what's so wonderful about this particular cut, are the little specks of pyrite you see in it..(See close up photos) It has an 'egg' shape to it & is what I would call a 'perfectly' cut stone.

The center cut sits in a shadowbox setting that is done in a very traditional Navajo style & has little hand made star conchos at the north/south end that are used as accents.(See close up photos) To accommodate the center's 2-1/8" size,it lays atop of a tri-split shank that then narrows at the terminals.

The scalloped shank is tooled through to the ends out with precise stamp work. The dark oxidation is left deep in the crevices to accentuate the design & give contrast to the more polished sterling.

**This is for a smaller boned-medium size wrist.Even though it has a larger 5-3/4" interior & measures at a 6-1/2" total wrist size, the smaller 3/4" gap is great for women that have a little larger wrist,but are smaller boned..This small gap helps the cuff to stay put & prevents it from flopping around & possibly falling off! ( If the gap was larger, the cuff would flop around) **
