Native American ALBERT JAKE-Kazakhstan/ Golden Hills Turquoise-Heavy 12 Gauge Old School Twisted Wire Sterling ROW Cuff- For Average 6-5/8" Wrist

$1,500.00

THE ARTIST:
Sharing both Navajo & Zuni bloodlines, Albert Jake, is a very passionate, well known & highly skilled jeweler, that combines the perfect marriage of top notch quality materials with his impeccable workmanship. Working 5 out of 7 days a week, Al creates both traditional & contemporary Navajo jewelry, in which he works in both gold & sterling.

Born on the Zuni Pueblo in 1959 & now resides in Albuquerque, Al is definitely no beginner to silversmithing. .You don't get this good overnight nor in a matter of month's. It literally takes years of repetition, doing it over & over to be at the level he’s at.. His ‘Attention to Detail” is extraordinary & has an incredible eye for form & balance. He’s an artist who sets the bar high & is no way, considered your "average- every day” sort of jeweler .

THE TURQUOISE:

These square shaped cuts of Kazakhstan Turquoise (Golden Hills) have all the attributes that we want to see in this particular turquoise, making this one of the more sought out in todays turquoise market because of them.. When we think of quality, it’s the color that is taken into consideration.. And in reference to turquoise, the depth of color has much to do with quality. Most mines range in color, from having both the deepest colors, to rocks with hardly any color. And with that said, the Kazakhstan turquoise in this particular cuff, has the richness & depth of color that is the most desirable to buyers. Oozing all of it’s true signature “Periwinkle” color that has these rich dark tones of lavender that give the most gorgeous contrasts, especially along side the lighter tones.. The cuts display their signature red/brown brick matrix patterns that are known to this mine. Like a fingerprint, it is a one of a kind cut that has it’s own characteristics!

THE CUFF:

The shank is made in an old school style twisted wire shank, where there's 4 twisted wires & a smooth square wire that lays down the center. What gives this the weight it has, is for the gauge that Al uses, which is a heftier 12 gauge sterling. So it’s very durable & non-bendable for it’s 5/8” width size!! Used as accents, are hand stamped conchos, with smaller beads. If you zoom in on the last photo, you will notice the terminals are reinforced with sheet sterling, which give this area it’s added strength.

THE FINISHING:

Emulating a look as if aged, the sterling is SO beautifully oxidized, but has just enough lightness that brings this finishing over the top! I have some of my favorite artists when it comes to knowing where & how much oxidation is left & Al is one that ranks high with me for this technique.. It takes as much skill to know this, as it does to create a fine piece of jewelry. Having this skill, not only brings out the beauty of the sterling, but it also accentuates any colored stones or any deep stamp work, if any.

SIZING:

This is made for an average size wrist, but for a wrist that is not "fleshy & meaty" since the gap only has a 1-1/8" opening.. Because of not only the heftiness of the 12 gauge sterling & the row design, does not make this particular cuff easy to adjust. So please know your wrist size before purchasing, since cuffs fit different than any other type bracelet & it is of extreme importance they fit right! If you're not sure or have never measured yourself, please don't hesitate to contact me!! But for more info on cuff fitting, please click on this link to see if this will fit:  How To Fit A Cuff I also recommend you copy & paste the You Tube link I have there, which covers the right way of putting a cuff on & explains things I don’t.

PRICING IS BASED ON:

Artist recognition, sterling cost, the artist’s time, the turquoise quality, the cost per carat for better quality turquoise and the amount of carats are all reflected in price.
