Philander takes us back & pays respect to the 1st known Navajo metalsmith from the late 1800's, "Slender Maker of Silver"(Atsini Sani) who was also known to be the greatest jeweler who ever lived..(Please google the name if your not familiar)Slender paved the way for Navajo jewelry & from a 'well-known' source,Philander,Darryl,Lee Begay,may all be descendants of this man.

Just like a painting,Philander did a unbelievable job creating this masterpiece! There is so much realistic detail in this & will give you that much more respect for the art Philander does!

Presented in Tufa Cast heavy sterling,he brings us into the Navajo Hogan,where Slender Maker sits there in traditional Navajo attire,with a bandana tied sideways on his head,squash blossom on his neck, moccasins on his feet & the well remembered Concho belt that he held in his hands.The concho belt is made with precisely inlaid rectangular cuts of some gorgeous Blue Gem turquoise that Philander cut to fit inside each concho...To the left of Slender's feet you will even see a Navajo rug (With Design!!) that Philander drew out. There is a large piece of what may be Lone Mountain or Red Mountain turquoise that is bezel set that sits at top.

Made in a horizontally laid trapezoid shape & what holds the belt,is a stationary thick rope wire that works with a belt that would then fold over the wire, that then snaps.It can hold a pretty wide belt.

This is Navajo Tufa Art at it's finest & is fit for the true connoisseur collector & will be a belt buckle only one,can proudly own & wear.
